Spotlight Series Episode 2: Meaningful Recognition in a Time of Adversity

Welcome back to Episode 2 in the Versant Spotlight Series, in which we offer a platform to our partner organizations to collaborate and shine a light on their own proven strategies for success.

Part 1 of this four-part episode features two experts: Bonnie Barnes and Jeff Stout.

Bonnie Barnes is co-founder and CEO of the DAISY Foundation, an organization dedicated to honoring nurses since its inception over 20 years ago. Together with her husband Mark, they designed The DAISY Award to provide ongoing recognition of nurses and to give patients and families a way to express their gratitude for the care they received from nurses.  To date, DAISY has partnered with over 4,500 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing in 29 countries.

Jeff Stout, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, is an accomplished executive healthcare leader with over 25 years of experience in the acute care setting. As interim Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH) in Los Angeles, California, he is a hands-on leader and mentor committed to maintaining MLKCH’s high standards of care while helping the team achieve superior outcomes for its patients, families, and the community they serve.
