Bahamas Vaccination Campaign A Success!

Versant is pleased to announce the success of our Bahamas “Family Island” Covid-19 Vaccination Rollout. A big thank you to all who made this happen!

Between June 20th to 26th, our volunteer medical teams administered vaccines in the Family Islands, home to 25% of Bahamians. Twenty vaccination sites were set up across nine islands, ultimately vaccinating thousands of people. The vaccine rollout in the Bahamas is a tremendous logistical challenge, given the number of rural communities that are spread across the islands. Our team used small aircraft to deliver vaccines and our medical personnel. Four aircraft made 48 flights in support of this mission, working day and night to ferry volunteers and supplies across islands from their base in Nassau.

Our teams were personally received by Dr. Hubert Minnis, Prime Minister of the Bahamas, in thanks for their efforts.

“The days are long, difficult, and chaotic, with the need to make dozens of adjustments,” said Mike Carman, Versant Managing Partner and volunteer pilot. “Then, in a blink of an eye, the week has passed and it is all over. So many people contributed their time, effort, and resources to this effort. I’m happy we had the opportunity to get down there and make a difference in people’s lives.”

Thank you to our corporate partners in this effort: Sol Relief, the Rhode Island National Guard, and the Government of the Bahamas. Additionally, thank you to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and pilots who volunteered their time to make this campaign a reality.
